Grand Bahama Power employees recently donated over 400 toys to aid the Santa’s Helper’s programme.
Sarah MacDonald, President and CEO of Grand Bahama Power Company, said, “Our company has always believed in being involved in the community and during the holiday season we couldn’t think of a better way to help local children and their families.
The employees were challenged to bring in a gift donation to aid underprivileged children on the island. The response was overwhelming. “Even in difficult economic times, every child deserves a Christmas and the Grand Bahama Power Company Family felt this was a great way to serve our community,” said MacDonald.
According to Vicky Martell, long time organizer of the Santa’s Helpers program, “I was happy when GBPC called and said they would be donating towards our organization this year, but I did not expect the outpouring of gifts that came from the employees. This will make such a big difference in the lives of so many kids this Christmas.”
The Santa Helper’s Program collects new, unwrapped toys during each year, and distributes them as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community.
