Grand Bahama Power Company (GBPC) parent Emera Inc. of Halifax, Canada announced three changes in executive leadership this morning, including a change in title and scope of responsibility for GBPC’s President and Chief Executive Officer Sarah MacDonald.

Effective immediately, in addition to maintaining her current accountabilities, Ms. MacDonald assumes the added role of President of Emera Caribbean Limited (ECL). This broadened portfolio encompasses executive oversight of Light and Power Holdings, which includes Barbados Light and Power, and is responsible for all of Emera’s business development activity in the Caribbean.

Ms. MacDonald briefly expands on today’s announcement: “While my scope has broadened, my role here at GBPC remains unchanged. I’ll continue to reside here on Grand Bahama, and to work closely with GBPC’s leadership team and all employees to achieve our goal of safe, efficient delivery of reliable service to our customers across the Island.”

Coincident with that change, Emera announced the appointment of Mr. Bob Hanf as President and Chief Executive Officer of Nova Scotia Power Inc., and Mr. Rob Bennett to the new role of Executive VP and Chief Operating Officer at Emera Inc. The full text of Emera’s announcement may be found at
